Happy Easter!

I was thinking about what I wanted to share here on my blog for Easter.  I decided that a video about the true meaning of Easter would be perfect!  I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and for what He did to help all of us have the opportunity to return to live with our Heavenly Father again someday.  I know He lives!  If you enjoyed this video you can check out mormon.org for more great stuff like this!

Organization Labels

I love organizing things!  I like the saying "organized people are just to lazy to look for things", because that's how I feel. (It also makes me feel a little less OCD.)  I hate to search for things!  So I try to keep things organized around the house.  We have a lot of games that we store in our family room, and these boxes helped us keep them out sight.  But they caused the dilemma of searching for the game you want.  So I decided that with the subway art style I could label the boxes with all of the games inside.  Perfect solution!  I used Silhouette adhesive vinyl to label the boxes.  That way it can be easily removed if I change the games I have.  The vinyl sticks surprisingly well to fabric boxes!

Shoe Clips

I bought these simple little ballet flats just so I could do this Silhouette project.  I loved the idea of making shoe clips so I could change the design of my shoes with every outfit.  I will come up with a more comfortable option next time I make some, but for this project I used typical alligator hair clips.  I cut the flower out of lambskin leather, attached the flower pieces with a brad, then glued on the clip and some felt to help hold it all in place.  Then I just clipped them on my shoes.  The great part about making them like this is that I can also use them in my hair.  You just have to make sure they are clipped on just right so the clip doesn't rub on your toes too much.

Silhouette Customization

I used rhinestones and this star design to embellish my CAMEO Dust Cover.  Yes it did take a lot of time to get just the right colors in the right spot.  But it was totally worth it!  I love the added interest it adds to the rhinestone design.

If you have a Cameo, you know it came with 50 something free shapes.  One of those shapes looks like an iPod type thing.  It is actually a piece you can cut to put behind the plastic on the controls.  Super fun!!!

The little bit of adhesive vinyl saying create everyday just topped off the customization for me.  :)

Computer Fun

I wanted to personalize my laptop with some Silhouette adhesive vinyl.  I fell in love with this Retro Robot!  How cute is he?!  I like the idea of the family grouping that people do on their cars, but I didn't want one on my car.  Why not on my laptop?  I added a bow to the girls, you know, to make them more girly.  :)

Messanger Bag

I got a killer deal on this name brand messenger bag.  Seriously it was $5!  But it was a bit plain for my taste.  So I had some fun with Silhouette Heat Transfer.  I used the Smooth teal heat transfer for the glasses and the Flocked white heat transfer for the hello.  It's random, but I love it!

Here are the awesome designs that I found in the Silhouette Online store.  You've got to love buying cool designs for just $0.99! (If you have a Silhouette you should consider a subscription.  For $20 you get $150 worth of designs!!!  They have all kinds of plans you can choose from.  Check it out!)

Turtle Onsie

My daughter is only 9 months old, therefore I love making onsies!  I made this one for her this morning.  I love the way it turned out.  I used the Silhouette CAMEO to create this design.  (Which honestly, I use the Cameo for almost everything I make anymore.)
I fell in love with this little turtle when I found it.  And of course I had to add a little bow to her head.
I love using the Silhouette Heat Transfer Material to create fun designs.  It makes a project so easy and it looks so professional as well.  What's not to love?!!

I put this onsie on my little sweet P right after I finished it.  As you can imagine, it is already stained from the sweet potatoes she had for lunch.  How is it that babies can get food everywhere, even wearing a good bib?  Oh well, hopefully my awesome bar of Fels-Naptha soap will get the stains out!

Coat Makeover

So I have had this coat for years now, probably 6-7 years.  I hardly ever wear it because it doesn't quite feel like me.  I love colorful fun clothes and a typical brown trench coat doesn't quite fit the bill.
So I had the idea to do a complete makeover.  I used some RIT color remover to start with a clean slate. Here is a picture of this step.  (Sorry this shot is from my phone, I didn't know I'd be blogging it when I took the picture.)

After I removed the dye I decided to dye the coat with teal RIT dye, and switch out the buttons for something a little more playful.  And to put my true stamp on the coat I designed a pattern on my Silhouette CAMEO and used Silhouette Fabric Ink to make it come to life.  I'll do a tutorial next time I use fabric ink so you can see the process.

This is how my coat turned out.  I LOVE it now!!!  It definitely has a little Amy flair now.  :)
